Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative will be hosting a programme for African Power Ministries and utilities for the international platform at Switch 2016, in Gujarat, from 6 to 10th October 2016.
Switch 2016, to be held from 6-10 October 2016, is promoted by the Department of Energy & Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat with the Federation of Gujarat Industries, are organising the Switch Global Expo on Electrical Engineering and Innovation, in association with the Power and Energy Series, Spintelligent. Poised to be India’s manufacturing hub for electrical engineering, Vadodara and Gujarat have made great strides in the field of engineering and power.
The exhibition will involve showcasing manufacturing capabilities by national and international players and will be a chance for engineers, scientists, academics, and manufacturers to showcase their products and innovations for the power sector.
Switch 2016, will bring together mavericks and proven stalwarts of this field. From providing a platform for start-ups to organising a conducive exchange of technologies and networking with potential buyers and sellers, both local and international – Switch 2016 has it all. The exhibition will see more than 1,000,000 visitors from around the world along with a pavilion dedicated to resale and refurbishing options.
Switch 2016 will be inviting more than 8,000 highly qualified and strategic buyers, with more than 2,500 key buyers across the country – 200 buyers from Europe and 75 buyers from 20 utilities in the Middle East will be among many other guests from across the globe.
Confirmation from more than 1,000 domestic manufacturers and around 200 international manufacturers has been received, who will be representing their companies and participating in the exhibition.
WEBS is a congregation of the world’s leading power stakeholders including 30 ministers of power from India and a delegation from over 15 global power ministries.
The expo will have an Innovation and Technology Summit a first of its kind in the country where innovators will be given stalls to display their work. In addition, incubator forums will be available to exchange information with investors, bankers, and HNI for giving an interaction platform to encourage Venture capital funding into the start-ups of industry.
The technology summit will have wide-ranging discussions on Manufacturing Technology, Asset Management, Renewable Energy, and other technical subjects.

Between 1-10 October 2016, Gujarat, and specifically Vadodara, will host the traditional Navratri Garba Festival where about 40,000 people dance for 9 nights at one location. There are small groups of people who perform Garba across the city and those visiting Switch 2016 will be able to join in the festivities.
