On Thursday 17th February 2022, the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) hosted the Manufacturing Africa programme team at a breakfast meeting that brought together about 80 members of the LCCI.
The aim of the meeting was to sensitise the LCCI members on the programme and the opportunities for support available for eligible companies in Nigeria.
Of notable attendance at the event were the LCCI President – Asiwaju Dr. Michael Olawale-Cole, Deputy President – Gabriel Idahosa, and Director General – Dr. Chinyere Almona alongside Kerry Conway – the UK FCDO Head of Manufacturing Africa, Dr. Christoph Zipfel – Manufacturing Africa Team Lead, and special guest Solape Hammond – Special Advisor Lagos State office of the SDGs and Investment.
Also in attendance was Nnamdi Nwodo a representative of MAX NG – a company that has benefited from Manufacturing Africa support to raise $ 31 million.
Following the presentations by the Manufacturing Africa representatives and the beneficiary company, several high potential opportunities were already identified for support and follow up discussions with the companies are ongoing.
With the formalizing of the collaboration between the MA programme and the LCCI, manufacturing activity in Nigeria is expected to go a notch higher and ultimately translate to economic transformation.
