Abdulazeez Muazu Mafindi is the current Director of Finance and General Services department at the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). He was born on April 5, 1964, and he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Library & Information Science as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri.
Mafindi began his career in the Nigerian public service sector in 1987, working as a Deputy College Librarian (DCL) at the College of Education, Jalingo. He later resigned and joined the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) in 2000 as a Public Enterprise Officer and has since served in several positions within the organization. In addition, he has also participated actively in several government reforms and restructuring activities carried out by the Bureau.
In May 2023, Mafindi was promoted to Director of Finance and General Services department, where he is responsible for managing the Bureau’s financial resources and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and policies as well as IT and other general Bureau administrative functions.
Mafindi’s commitment to continuous professional development is evident in his completion of the Policy, Leadership & Strategy Course from the National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Jos. This course is designed to equip senior government officials with the skills and knowledge required to effectively formulate and implement policies that address the development challenges facing Nigeria.
Mafindi’s outstanding performance in his role at the BPE has earned him recognition and praise from his colleagues and superiors. His leadership and management skills have been instrumental in driving the Bureau’s success in implementing the government’s privatization program in several sectors of the economy, which has resulted in the successful privatization of several key public assets.
He has twice been recognized and given Commendation letters by the BPE Management under the present Director General, Mr. Alex Ayola Okoh for his outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
Abdulazeez Muazu Mafindi is a highly skilled and competent civil servant and a role model to young Nigerians who aspire to a career in public service.
