Mário Alberto dos Santos Barber began his career in 1974 as a bookkeeper’s assistant in the Finance Division of the Ports and Railways Services of Angola. He was Head of Accounting at the National Siderurgia in 1976 and Professor of Accounting at the Commercial School, having developed his career in the public sector from 1978 onwards, exercising, until 1995, the functions of Accounting Inspector and Head of the Company Inspection Department of the Inspectorate. From 1997 to 2006 he was responsible for the Ernest & Young Office in Angola. In 1997 he joined the BAI Group, his first role was as Member of the Supervisory Board and he served two terms as Executive Director, served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors, President of the Board of Directors of BAI INVEST, S.A, President of the Supervisory Board of EKA and Member of the Supervisory Board of NOCAL. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He holds the functions of Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of Nossa Seguros, BAI Europa, IMOGESTIN, S.A. and Chairman of the Superior Council of the BAI Foundation and also serves as member of the Supervisory Board of two brewing companies in a group relationship .
