Positioned on the south façade of the building, the shelter was designed to receive maximum sunlight and to maintain a high temperature inside, thus providing optimal conditions for bats. It also serves as a temporary resting area at night to enable them to digest their food.
Bat populations are declining, primarily due to the loss of their habitats. However, bats are essential to the environment due to the large number of insects and rodents they consume.
This measure is indicative of the company’s desire to take action to support the environment and to promote biodiversity on its various sites. It also forms part of Bolloré Solutions Logistiques’ CSR Programme, and of its BREEAM certification process which has earned the company recognition as a Site engagé pour la nature: a “Site committed to nature”.
