James Mwangi

James Mwangi (born 1962) is a Kenyan accountant, banker, businessman, and entrepreneur. He is the Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Equity Group Holdings Plc, one of Africa’s largest banking conglomerates with over 14 million customers. Mwangi is celebrated for transforming Equity from an insolvent building society into a regional financial powerhouse, and for his role in advancing financial inclusion across Africa.
